One of Britain’s most glamorous shoe brands, Jimmy Choo, has its UK flagship, and biggest of its stores globally, on New Bond Street. Alongside the women’s, men’s and bridal collections, the store offers a chance to get something truly unique to you. A made-to-order service where you decide the colour, texture and finish of your dream pair of shoes or handbag with the help of one of their advisors is as much about the experience as the end result. Choo X You, the brand’s personalisation service, is also available to put your own stamp on a new pair of Choos with Swarovski crystal lettering and symbols.
Founded in 1996 by Malaysian-born designer Jimmy Choo and Tamara Mellon, then accessories editor at Vogue, it quickly became a favourite brand of glamorous dressers such as Princess Diana. It also received a mention in an episode of Sex and the City and has picked up top industry awards. Jimmy Choo left the brand in 2001 but his niece, Sandra Choi, still helms the creative direction of the brand.
The New Bond Street townhouse has three floors of exquisite footwear, handbags, fragrances and eyewear to explore. The warm, gold-tones of the space create an inviting feel while the marble staircase and Art Deco light fixtures gives it the luxurious touch befitting of the shoes. The top floor bridal salon features a fully stocked bar, skylight and velvet sofas to create an intimate space to enjoy shopping with loved ones.
