Givenchy
165 New Bond Street
At the corner of Grafton Street and New Bond Street, the Givenchy flagship is a modern masterpiece paying respect to the brand’s legacy. Inside you’ll find ready-to-wear, shoes, bags and accessories for both men and women in a store design inspired by the boxes Hubert de Givenchy used to deliver his haute couture pieces. Designs exclusive to the New Bond Street store are often a part of the mix too.
The store is one of the newer arrivals on the street having opened its doors in 2018. It was about time for the French maison to plant a flagship in the British capital as British designer Clare Waight Keller took over the creative director role the year before and dressed Meghan Markle for her wedding to Prince Harry.
The store design incorporates some of the original 18th century features of the two buildings that have been converted into the store alongside strikingly contemporary schemes like the pink-tiled accessories room or the glossy red stairwell leading to eveningwear. It’s a bold approach that neatly blends the clean but feminine looks of some of Givenchy’s early work, such as his designs created for Audrey Hepburn, and the darker, more gothic aesthetic the house is known for today.
Appointments can be booked online or over the phone for a more attentive shopping experience. The availability of items in the store can also be checked through the Givenchy website to make sure you’re never disappointed.
