Mulberry, the British luxury brand famed for its leather handbags made in Somerset, England, brings together rural and urban lifestyle beautifully at their New Bond Street store. British craftspeople were brought in to create classic countryside features such as a dry stone wall. The concept of follies, buildings created purely for aesthetic purposes popular with 18th century landscape gardeners, was used as a point of inspiration in the design too. Yet this little haven sits at the heart of the bustling West End and is filled with contemporary fashion looks.
The flagship store at 50 New Bond Street contains the full range from the brand including men’s and women’s bags, shoes and accessories and womenswear spread across 50 square metres of retail space. Items purchased online can be collected, returned or exchanged at the store. Every Mulberry bag comes with a 12-month guarantee but if your product needs a bit of extra care they’re happy to help. Minor issues such as small scratches, simple repairs, additional hole punching and light leather cleaning are available at the store. For more extensive repairs they can book your bag in to be sent to their repairs workshop. Additionally, a personalisation service to monogram your bag is available.
Founded in 1971, Mulberry quickly became known for epitomising “Le Style Anglais”, something which is ever evolving with the times but remains at the heart of the brand’s aesthetic. The Mulberry tree, which founder Roger Saul would pass every day on his way to school, is the ultimate icon of British taste and craftsmanship.
