About The Show
**THE TONY AWARD®-WINNING BEST PLAY RETURNS TO LONDON**
The acclaimed National Theatre and Neal Street production of The Lehman Trilogy, directed by Oscar®, Tony Award®, and Golden Globe winner Sam Mendes, is coming back to the Gillian Lynne Theatre for a limited run this autumn. Praised by The New York Times as “a genuinely epic production,” The Lehman Trilogy narrates the expansive saga of a family through generations and the rise of a company that left a lasting impact on the world.
Following their highly praised performances in San Francisco, John Heffernan, Aaron Krohn, and Howard W. Overshown will grace London with their “virtuosic performances” (The Mercury News). They will portray the Lehman brothers and their sons and grandsons in this electrifying “tour de force of acting talent” (KQED Radio).
The story begins on a chilly September morning in 1844, as a young Bavarian man arrives at a New York dockside with dreams of a new life in America. Joined by his two brothers, he embarks on an American epic. Fast-forward 163 years, and the company they founded—Lehman Brothers—dramatically collapses into bankruptcy, igniting the largest financial crisis in history.
