Ralph Lauren has four global flagship stores in Europe, two of which are in London’s West End and the more premium offering of those resides on Bond Street. The maison accommodates the Polo Ralph Lauren label for men and women, Ralph Lauren Home, plus Purple label, the brand’s luxury menswear offering specialising in tailoring, cashmere knitwear and outerwear and Ralph Lauren Collections, womenswear looks straight from the New York Fashion Week catwalk.
Originally opened in 1999, Ralph Lauren at 1 New Bond Street has been designed to feel like a 1920s ocean liner complete with mahogany wall panels, fine artwork and Art Deco fixtures. This is first class all the way. It has more than 2200 square metres of retail space across four floors so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore every deck. Smaller spaces with working fireplaces have a gentleman’s club feel to them and it’s easy to feel transported back to another time in this historic part of town.
Ralph Lauren remains the chief creative officer behind the eponymous brand he launched in 1967 as a collection of ties and is now one of the most famous American luxury brands on the market. Known for its preppy, Ivy-league style and strong links with the world of polo, it is synonymous with the American dream. Its products encompass the whole lifestyle too from sportswear to formalwear, bedding to tableware, and who could leave the store without picking up one of their iconic polo shirts.
