David Morris
180 New Bond Street
Known as “the London jeweller”, David Morris handcrafts each designs at its atelier above their New Bond Street store, one of the last jewellery workshop left on the iconic street. The flagship store is one of only 12 David Morris boutiques worldwide and offers high jewellery, fine jewellery, bridal and bespoke.
David Morris learnt his trade at one of the world’s most prestigious jewellery brands in the 1950s before setting up his namesake house in 1962, just as the swinging sixties made the capital one of the most exciting cities in the world. His jewellery went on to be worn by stars such as Elizabeth Taylor (who was gifted a piece by Richard Burton on Valentine’s Day 1965) and be featured on the movie poster for the James Bond classic Diamonds Are Forever. He also created the Miss World crown which is still used today.
The business has been handed down to David’s son, Jeremy Morris who is currently managing director and principal designer, continuing the tradition for outstanding jewellery with a playful twist. Expect statement designs, often celebrating colourful gems such as rubies, sapphires and rare-coloured diamonds. Minimal metalwork is used in their designs to show off the true vibrancy and brilliance of the gems they work with.
The store and atelier reside in a grade II listed townhouse, dating from 1908 and has been home for David Morris since 1996. Viewings with a jewellery advisor at the store can be booked in advance to help you find exactly what you’re looking for or to discuss a bespoke commission.
