Moussaieff
172 New Bond Street
Moussaieff is one of the most exclusive jewellery houses on Bond Street with only five other stores anywhere in the world. The brand was founded in London in 1963 but the family’s history with jewellery goes much further back. Founder Shlomo Moussaieff’s great grandfather-in-law was a pearl merchant in the Middle East who would trade with gemstones from India. He passed this passion on to his son who became an established dealer in Paris and so the tradition continued.
Today, the brand is in the hands of Alisa Moussaieff, wife of Shlomo, and is synonymous with an exceptional collection of rare gems and a client list that ranges from heads of state and royalty to celebrity legends such as Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Sinatra. They’re not ones to flaunt it though, assuring complete discretion and a subtle approach to jewellery collecting that makes Moussaieff one for true connoisseurs. The designs themselves have a timeless quality, created to the best potential of each gemstone, rather than fashion trends, and draw on art and nature as points of inspiration. Coloured gem stones including pink and blue diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds are a particular specialty of the brand. Each piece is handmade at the brand’s workshop in the jewellery centre of Place Vendôme, Paris.
Similarly, the Old Bond Street boutique has a classical luxury feel with its black and bronze store front, plush carpets and Art Deco lift which takes clients to the upper salon with its mirrored ceiling. A bespoke service is available to create something uniquely yours.
