Jaeger-LeCoultre
13 Old Bond Street
One of the most notable names in Swiss watchmaking, Jaeger LeCoultre, has its only standalone store in the UK at 13 Old Bond Street. This is the place to get the full Jaeger LeCoultre brand experience, as well as make use of their in-house service centre and watchmaker.
With a history dating back to 1833, there are many stories to tell about this prestigious brand and many that centre around its relationship with the UK. In 1851, Jaeger LeCoultre was awarded a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition hosted in London for its contribution to watchmaking and Queen Elizabeth II wore a watch including the Calibre 101 mechanism created by them for her coronation. The famous Reverso watch by the brand was originally created for British officers when playing polo in India, another tale that was celebrated at the opening of the flagship boutique in 2015 with the number of prominent polo players in attendance. Their rich history is further celebrated in this store by a wall decorated with 60 of the brand’s masterful calibres alongside vintage advertising from the brand and old photos of their manufacturing facility.
The store is an intimate one at just 230 square metres. It follows an Art Deco design concept, reflective of their famous Reverso and Atmos timepieces. Combining an immersive brand experience across product, service and history, it’s understandable why Jaeger LeCoultre’s Old Bond Street store was named Branded Boutique of the Year at the 2017 WatchPro Awards.
