Miu Miu
150 New Bond Street
Prada’s cheeky younger sister, Miu Miu, has had a maison on Bond Street since 2010 and continues to be a popular shopping spot for fans of the brand. The 371 square metres of floor space serve up ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear and fragrances for women straight from the creative mind of Miuccia Prada.
The playful experimentation of the clothes spreads to the design concept of the store, which spans two floors, and is themed on a bank vault making each item inside its precious jewels. Imitation safety deposit boxes and old fashioned acanthus leaf wallpaper line the walls but don’t expect something stuffy, the concept is given an artistic and fun lift under the eye of the brand. Appointments are available to book at the store too to ensure your visit is nothing but first class.
The Miu Miu brand was launched in 1993 and gets its name from Miuccia Prada’s nickname. As such you can expect it to be her most personal range of designs, quite different to the Prada label her grandfather founded 80 years previously. Celebrity fans of the brand include Sadie Frost, Jessica Alba and Josephine de la Baume who all attended the launch of the New Bond Street store. The brand is also famous for its celebration of youth and has helped launch the careers of budding actresses including Chloe Grace Moretz and Hailee Steinfeld by inviting them to star in Miu Miu campaigns when they were teenagers.
