GEOX
266 Oxford Street
Geox brings their combination of Italian style and innovative solutions to London’s Oxford Street. They started life in 1995 when founder Mario Polegato set about trying to create a more breathable shoe. After resorting to piercing holes in the soles of his existing shoes during a run, he developed a new perforated sole that he later patented. It became a cult product and the foundation of the brand. The company’s research and development lab in Montebelluna, Italy, is constantly working to explore new materials and ideas to evolve the products Geox make. The brand’s name is a portmanteau of “geo”, the Latin for “earth”, and “x” representing technology and innovation.
The “Respira” breathable products have been refined and developed since the initial idea 15 years ago and new technologies introduced to solve their customer’s footwear issues, including shoes that are both breathable and waterproof. They’ve also extended their breathable and waterproof innovation to a line of outerwear including vests, anoraks, down jackets and coats. You’ll also find socks, bags and belts as part of the product offering. While Geox is most famous for its trainers and casual shoe offering, the selection ranges all the way through to formal shoes, boots and heels. The kids range covers first steps baby shoes up to junior styles and sizes including school shoes, sandals, sneakers and light-up trainers.
