The flagship store of Scandinavian shoe brand Ecco is located at 445 Oxford Street with a full selection of styles for ladies, men, kids, golf and sports. You’ll find two more shops from the brand to explore on the street, one closer to Oxford Circus with, and the other by Tottenham Court Road, both containing the ladies’, men’s and sport ranges.
What makes Ecco so special is that they are the only major shoe brand to directly own all of their manufacturing units, meaning they have direct control over the quality and have a deep understanding of what makes a shoe great. This has been true from day one, when founder Karl Toosbury, then a manager of a shoe factory, set out to run his own factory in Bredebro, Denmark, in 1963. Over the decades, Ecco has invested in new innovations in footwear to make their shoes some of the most comfortable, supportive and long-lasting around. From their Fluidform™ technology which fuses a shock-absorbent sole to the upper without the need for glue or stitching for a more durable bond, to their use of Gore-Tex which is both waterproof and breathable, they are truly invested in your comfort. It’s thanks to these advancements that Ecco not only offers seasonal fashion shoes, bags and small leather goods but also a much sought after range of footwear for golf, hiking and outdoor use.
The flagship store is an homage to Danish design, emphasizing minimalism and functionality. The 225 square metre space features cosy earthy tones and oak finishes with furniture sourced from fellow Scandinavian designers Muuto and Le Klint.
