The UK’s largest clothing retailer, Next, has two outposts on Oxford Street including a flagship inside The Plaza shopping centre. While there’s a great selection of womenswear, menswear and childrenswear at the store close to Bond Street, the flagship at 120 Oxford Street opened in 2018 with its biggest range of products yet. Split across three floors, the flagship also carries homeware and is the only Next store to stock its maternity collection. There’s also a petite range for women under 5ft 3 (160cm) stocked in store. A number of concessions from other brands you’re guaranteed to love can be found in house. Lipsy, known for its glamorous party dresses, has a shop-in-shop as well as Clarks shoes. Paperchase and HEMA each have a selection of stationery, home accessories and gifts available at their concessions.
The Next flagship has been designed as a space to spend time, relax and take shopping at your own pace with comfortable seating areas, charging points for your phone and a Costa coffee to refuel. Equally, if you’re in a rush, try their express pick-up in store service which allows you to shop online and collect from either of the Oxford Street stores in under an hour.
While Next began trading under its current name in 1981 transforming it into a global high street chain it is today, the business actually has roots going back to 1864 as a tailor. While the brand looks very different today, ready-to-wear suits and workwear are still a staple alongside everyday style staples and trend-led fashion pieces.
