Fans, young and old, flock to The Disney Store on Oxford Street to add to their collections of official merchandise. From cuddly toys to dressing-up clothes to collectables, you’ll find the perfect gift for a Disney fan or something for yourself with your favourite character on it. As well as classic figures such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and the Disney Princesses, you’ll find areas dedicated to the latest film releases and Star Wars and Marvel.
The store, which opened in 2011, is the biggest of its kind in Europe and is an attraction for locals and tourists alike. It covers 8,200 square feet and is spread across two floors. Its most spectacular feature is the 28 feet tall castle in the centre of the store, which is sure to light up children’s eyes as soon as they walk through the doors. The flagship begins each day with an opening ceremony at 9 am. A child will be selected to open the barrier with a giant key before watching Tinkerbell spread her magical pixie dust over the castle. It’s a spectacle not to be missed if you’ve brought the family to London on holiday.
You’ll be immersed in the world of Disney with animated trees, an interactive Disney Princess Magic Mirror, cartoons playing on the wall, and your favourite theme tunes playing all day. There’s even a life-size replica of Cinderella’s coach, the perfect photo opportunity to remember your day. Keep an eye out for fun in-store events taking place every day in the Disney Store Theatre. These include quizzes, dance-like-your-favourite character lessons and animation workshops to give you a taste of behind-the-scenes at Disney, all completely free of charge and always hugely popular.
