Church’s was founded in 1873 in England’s heart of shoemaking, Northampton, by Thomas Church and his family. The business has been passed down for generations leaving quite a legacy including inventing different fits for left and right feet and winning the Queen’s Award to Industry in 1965 for its excellence in exporting British-made shoes around the world. In 1999, the Church family sold the brand to the Prada Group, who own the business today and ensure it still meets the highest standards of style and quality.
All of the brand’s designs are manufactured at their Northampton factory and many of them have been crafted using goodyear welting for shoes that are designed to last. If you do take home a pair after a visit to Regent Street, Church’s services don’t end there. Their expert craftspeople in Northampton can also repair your shoes up to twice in their lifetime. This service can be arranged by mailing them direct to the factory or visiting the Regent Street store and speaking with their staff.
