Bottletop
84 Regent Street
Accessories brand Bottletop opened the world’s first zero-waste retail location on Regent Street in 2017. The space has been constructed using 3D-printed recycled plastic and the ceiling features rows of reused aluminium drinks cans, a nod to the ring pulls used in the brand’s designs. This commitment to sustainability goes beyond the store design though as gorgeous products, made with care and respect for people and the environment is what they do best.
Their unique bags and belts are made with conscious materials including upcycled ring pulls (bottle tops) and leather that is guaranteed not to contribute to deforestation. The ring pulls are woven together to create a “chainmail” effect making these bags really stand out from the crowd. Their atelier is based in Brazil where they train craftspeople and pay them a fair wage for their work.
They also sell their #TOGETHERBAND, a bracelet made from recycled plastic with each colour representing one of the 17 UN sustainable development goals. All profits from each sale will go towards funding projects linked to the goals which address hunger, education, gender equality, climate change and more.
The brand has amassed a celebrity following with Victoria’s Secret model Lais Ribeiro, vlogger Tanya Bishop and singer Nicola Roberts attending the Regent Street store opening and Emma Watson and Jessica Alba counting themselves as fans of the brand. The Regent Street location was the brand’s debut store and it only has one other location in the world so plan a trip for a rare opportunity to see these unique creations in person.
