Lululemon’s European flagship store on Regent Street has been designed as a space to “stretch, sweat, connect”. The Canadian athleticwear brand has created much more than just a shop, with the upstairs playing host to free yoga classes, talks and events designed to build a sense of community around it. You’ll also find the café from Neat Nutrition on this floor, an all-natural protein concept founded by professional swimmers Lee Forster and Charlie Turner. On the ground floor, you’ll find their wide range of products for men and women, including leggings, jogging bottoms, swimwear, hoodies and underwear. The concierge desk is on hand to help you locate products in the store or pick up suggestions for a great fitness studio nearby.
As you enter the store, there’s a calming atmosphere. It’s bright, spacious and designed in soft grey tones with marble and concrete accents. Inspiring slogans such as “Create the life you love” pop up on the walls to put you in a positive headspace. Their interactive digital display encourages visitors to strike a pose on their motion-sensor yoga mat, which will be mirrored in a flurry of coloured dots on the screen in front of you.
Lululemon was founded in 1998 as a specialist in yoga wear and helped to popularise workout wear that was stylish enough to be worn outside of the gym. It has gained a considerable celebrity fanbase, including Rita Ora, Scarlett Johansson and Selena Gomez, cementing itself as one of the hottest workout gear brands in the world.
