Sandro
137 – 139 Regent Street
Everyone wants to dress like a Parisian, and thankfully you just need to head to Sandro on Regent Street to get the look. The French brand carries a full range of womenswear in premium fabrics such as silk, leather, and cashmere at an accessible price point making chic dressing easier than it looks.
Since arriving in the UK in 2009, Sandro has been quietly popping up all over the country, remaining a closely guarded secret of stylish ladies. The arrival of their flagship on Regent Street in 2017 marks their established popularity on British soil and carries a selection of women’s clothing, bags, and shoes. The 1,956 square-feet space is every bit as elegant as you’d imagine with natural wood floors, vintage furniture, and a standout green marble cash desk. The intimate boutique atmosphere is a pleasant addition to the grand, multi-floor flagships along the rest of the street and means the shopping experience stays true to the clothes’ accessible luxury status.
The brand was founded in 1984 by Evelyne Chetrite with an aim to bottle the much-coveted Parisian ‘je ne sais quoi’ and bring it to the women around the world. Chetrite is still Creative Director at the label and her son established the ‘homme’ line for men for the company in 2008 which they describe as the ‘alter-ego’ to the womenswear. As well as beautiful fabrics, a rock ‘n’ roll twist adds that achingly cool edge that springs to mind when you think of dressing with French flair.
As the shopping centre of London’s fashion scene, the West End brings together the world’s style capitals in one place and Sandro Paris is a good place to start your global exploration. Don’t expect Sandro to stay under the radar for long.
As a key motif of the brand, Sandro has worked on several collections inspired by some of their favourite rock legends which have included Pink Floyd, Nirvana, and Joy Division.
