Guess
160 Regent Street
Famed for their denim, Guess on Regent Street is home to the perfect pair of jeans and much more. When it opened it was the brand’s largest store in Europe, covering two floors and displaying the brand’s ranges womenswear, menswear, watches. handbags and fragrances. Products featuring the brand’s triangle and question mark logo make up some of the best sellers, an emblem that has never been out of style.
Founded by the French Marciano brothers in Los Angeles, America, Guess is a perfect blend of these two places; sexy and cool. When it arrived on the American market in 1981, these two Frenchmen elevated jeans from an everyday basic to a fashion icon available in a range of washes, fits and embellishments. The “Marilyn jeans”, the first pair ever created by Guess, were an instant sell out for their noticeable three zip ankles. It only seemed right then that some of the biggest celebrity icons should model them and over the years Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell, Anna Nicole Smith and Paris Hilton have all held the title of “Guess girl”. What’s more, they enlisted some of the most famous photographers to help them create these legendary campaigns, including Ellen von Unwerth and Herb Ritts.
You’ll find these classic ad campaigns hanging on the walls of their Regent Street store, the standout feature of an otherwise simple store layout that will help you navigate the products. Monochromatic white, red and black used throughout the space epitomise Guess’ simple but bold attitude to fashion.
