Arket chose Regent Street as the site of its first ever store. Opened in 2017, it describes itself as a “modern-day market” offering good quality essentials, with a trendy Scandi aesthetic. In addition to their own range of products they also stock other brands who share their ideals, as you’d expect from a market. Partners include Ace & Tate, Birkenstock, Veja and WWF’s line of plush toys.
Arket’s mission is to “democratise quality” by offering long-lasting products at an accessible price. The ground floor encompasses menswear, homeware and the Arket café which has an all-vegetarian menu in keeping with its Nordic healthy-living philosophy.
You’ll find womenswear and childrenswear on yet another expansive floor upstairs. Childrenswear runs from baby up to age 11 and the women’s and men’s collections include a full range of shoes, bags and accessories as well as apparel. The fashion range focuses on easy-to-style pieces with simple silhouettes and colours that mix and match perfectly. The home section is full of beautifully crafted wears to brighten your kitchen, living room, bathroom or children’s room.
Arket is Swedish for “sheet of paper” and this approach of clean and crisp plays out across the store with a stripped back outfitting in head-to-toe grey and smooth wood, stone and chrome textures. Each product is displayed with a unique nine-digit code to make it easy for you to find what you’re looking for in store and online so you can locate your favourite items with ease.
