Lanvin
128 Mount Street
As the oldest fashion brand in continuous existence, Lanvin decided to draw on the brand’s archives and use vintage details to celebrate its history at its Mount Street maison. From the listed building’s original 1890’s parquet flooring, to decorative antiques and chandeliers sourced from Parisian flea markets, it places the newest collections in a setting befitting of their legacy.
A residential feel has been kept throughout the premises by trusted Parisians architects, Architecture & Associés, retaining the original layout and features, including fireplaces, and creating a different style to explore in every room. Lanvin invites you to feel at home amongst their romantic creations.
This amorous air is what has kept women swooning since Lanvin was founded in 1889, and was upkept by former Creative Director Alber Elbaz for 14 years, who oversaw the boutique’s opening in 2009. His love for making women feel special was highlighted by the ‘girls only’ policy during the grand unveiling, followed by a star-studded party for both sexes in the evening. Celebrities who offered their congratulations included Rosamund Pike, Kristen Scott Thomas, Juergen Teller, and Stephen Jones.
Now under the creative direction of Bouchra Jarrar, you’ll still find elegant tailoring, masterful drapery, and smart flats as staples of the brand. The creative team follows in the footsteps of the fashion house’s founder, Parisian born and bred Jeanne Lanvin, a driven entrepreneur, devoted mother, and expert couturier who died in 1946. Having built a fashion empire that encompassed womenswear, bridal, childrenswear, perfume, made-to-measure menswear, lingerie, sportswear, furs and home décor in just one lifetime, she has inspired generations after her to continue its global success.
This flagship store, which is closed on Sundays, carries their women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, perfume, and children’s lines. Their menswear flagship can be found on Savile Row. The French label’s connection with London also extends to being official tailor to Arsenal Football Club, and each player is personally fitted at the menswear boutique.
