Grosvenor, one of the largest privately-owned property companies in the world, started life in London’s West End. Though it now develops and manages property in over 60 countries worldwide, it still has an office on Grosvenor Street in London and has a variety of residential, retail, office, and hotels in the area under its portfolio, particularly around Mayfair and Belgravia. Some of their well-known properties include the Beaumont Hotel, and the majority of the retail units on designer shopping-haven Mount Street.
They have extensive experience of dealing with listed buildings, as well as the development of new properties, and add value to the areas that they work in by investing in community-centric features, such as sports facilities and shopping centres. Their improvements to the overall look and feel of the district have had success in benefitting current tenants and attracting new ones. Having been established since 1677, they believe in leaving a lasting legacy and creating positive impact wherever they add to their portfolio.
Residential clients of Grosvenor enjoy many perks including flexible terms, a dedicated management surveyor, and a 24-hour customer centre. Many of their West End properties also enjoy views of the many beautiful parks and squares, and being within walking distance of the best shops, restaurants, and bars in the city. They pride themselves on having a one-to-one relationship with their clients, seeing them through from initial viewings to the day they move out. A number of their homes also now reach the EnerPhit Passivhaus standard of sustainable living, with the aim of renovating more of their properties to this certified level in the coming years.
The company was founded by the Grosvenor family, the original owners of the land developed in the 18th century that is now known as Mayfair and Belgravia. It remains in the family to this day, owned by Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, who worked at the company before inheriting it in 2016.
