Backpack and bag specialists Kipling have fun and function covered at their Regent Street store. The brand, named after The Jungle Book author Rudyard Kipling and inspired by a sense of adventure, has become famous for its lightweight, nylon products which help its customers lighten the load. From rucksacks to luggage to bum bags and laptop bags, their casual designs come in a variety of colours and some striking prints to carry style with you everywhere.
Founded in Belgium in 1987, they’ve become a globally recognised brand and a firm family favourite with a popular line of school bags in addition to offering something for those with more grown up taste. They’ve kept a uniquely Belgian sense of humour about them though and always have a playful take on the new season to share. Collaborations with an eclectic range of brands, cultural icons and celebrities are a common occurrence too with past link ups including Keith Haring, Pac Man, Star Wars and singer Fergie.
The standout feature at the Regent Street store is a mural of the brand mascot, a monkey which appears as a keyring on every bag, created by London-based street artist, Fanakapan. Also tailored to a local audience is the map where customers are encouraged to pin their “hidden gems” so you can pick up tips of where to head after your store visit. A personsalisation station allows you to customise your new purchase with different keyrings and embroidery options so your bag will always stand out from the crowd.
