Trevor Ashley, the Olivier-nominated force behind a string of cult stage romps, writes and directs this gleefully filthy send-up, landing at The Other Palace Studio for an adults-only run.
At its centre are two ice hockey champions, Hollandaise and Stroganoff, whose venomous on-rink feud is really a cover for the fact that they cannot keep their hands off one another. What unfolds is part sports melodrama, part locker-room farce and entirely uninterested in the actual rules of the game, spinning out into a riot of parody numbers, barely-there towels and feelings that boil over at the worst possible moments. The songbook swings from soaring anthem to glittery party pop, the innuendo comes thick and shameless, and the whole thing revels in being far more about who is hooking up than who is winning, with full-frontal nudity, power plays and diva-sized meltdowns all firmly on the menu.
Running around 1 hour 15 minutes with no interval, the show is strictly for ages 18 and above and contains strong language, adult themes and nudity.
