Ten years since it last lit up a London stage, Billy Elliot the Musical is coming home. The story unfolds in a northern mining town gripped by the strike of 1984/5. As he chases a future few around him can picture, his determination slowly draws his family together, lifts a community under strain, and shows what art can do for a single life. With music by Elton John and book and lyrics by Lee Hall, the production reunites the creative team who made the original film so unforgettable, under the direction of Stephen Daldry.
