About the show

Cinderella is the Lyric Hammersmith’s big family pantomime this Christmas, a fresh take on the best-loved fairy tale of them all. It is written by Joel Horwood, whose stage version of The Ocean at the End of the Lane won wide praise and who is back at the Lyric after the theatre’s acclaimed Aladdin, and it is directed by Robin Belfield.

As midnight approaches in the heart of Hammersmith, expect the full panto package - rousing songs, riotous laughs and the mischievous, unexpected spin the Lyric is famous for bringing to a classic. When the shoe fits, a fairytale begins.

It is a warm, sparkling seasonal outing designed for all the family, recommended for children of six and above.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. It is the Lyric Hammersmith's big family panto, with rousing songs, riotous laughs and all the seasonal fun you would hope for, delivered with the bold, mischievous modern spin the theatre is known for.

It is recommended for ages six and up and is designed as a warm, sparkling outing for the whole family. It makes a lovely first pantomime for younger children, with plenty for the grown-ups too.

Not at all. Everyone knows the tale of Cinderella and the glass slipper, and the Lyric puts its own fresh, unexpected spin on the classic, so it is easy to follow and full of surprises.

The Lyric is famous for reinventing pantomime with a contemporary, slightly subversive twist rather than a straight retelling. This staging comes from writer Joel Horwood and director Robin Belfield, a team with real form at the theatre.

It is a comfortable, intimate theatre with good views throughout, which helps younger children see all the action, so the stalls and the front of the circle are ideal. You can compare every price band when you pick your seats above.
