A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespeare’s most magical comedy, plays a strictly limited summer run at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, directed by Atri Banerjee.
On a warm night in an enchanted forest, four young lovers flee the city, a troupe of amateur players rehearse a play, and the king and queen of the fairies fall out - until a drop of magic conjured by the mischievous Puck turns every heart upside down. Desire is turned on its head, and hearts are won, lost and won again before morning.
Staged in the open air beneath the trees of Regent’s Park, this is Shakespeare’s dream world brought vividly to life on one of London’s most beautiful stages.
