Operation Mincemeat is the multi-award-winning musical comedy that tells the almost unbelievable true story of the Second World War plan to defeat the Nazis with the help of a dead body. In 1943, British intelligence hatched one of the most audacious deceptions in military history: planting false documents on a corpse and letting it wash ashore to convince Hitler that the Allies would invade Greece rather than Sicily.
Created by the comedy company SpitLip - David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts - the show is performed by a cast of five who switch between dozens of characters at breakneck speed, blending sharp comedy, catchy songs and a surprising amount of heart. It won the 2024 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, with Jak Malone also winning Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical.
After a sell-out journey from fringe beginnings to the West End, Operation Mincemeat continues at the Fortune Theatre. The show runs for approximately 2 hours 35 minutes, including one interval, and is recommended for ages 5 and above.
