Now a high-street favourite for colourful, embellished accessories of all kinds, Accessorize had its first ever store in the Covent Garden piazza. A few steps from where it all began, you’ll find their current store on James Street with one of the biggest ranges they offer. The selection includes jewellery, bags, shoes, hair and tech accessories.
Originally inspired by founder Peter Simon’s road trip across Asia in the 70s, the offering is designed at their UK headquarters and created by artisans around the world to revive traditional craft techniques and provide employment opportunities for communities. Some pieces take over 20 hours of hand-embroidery, a level of craftsmanship you’re unlikely to find elsewhere on the high street. Constantly adapting to accommodate current trends too, its what’s kept them as one of the nation’s favourite dressing up boxes. Directly next door to the store, you’ll find their sister brand, Monsoon, who sell well-crafted womenswear made with the same ethos.
For kids, the Accessorize Angels range provides pocket-money priced goodies, including stationery, lip balms, and tiaras, aimed at those who are just starting out in a life of fun with accessories. They also stock a line of fitness gear named Spirit with a focus on wellbeing. As well as clothing for yoga and workouts, they have everything you need to live the lifestyle from wash bags, to caps, backpacks, and pendant necklaces that channel energy and strength.
At both Accessorize and Monsoon students can present their ID cards for a 10% discount and a loyalty scheme is also in place for regular customers to collect points with every purchase which convert into vouchers. In addition you’ll be treated to exclusive previews, be invited to in-store events, and even receive a birthday treat.
