Family-owned Crockett & Jones offer both ready-to-wear and bespoke shoes at their Burlington Arcade store. From their origins in England’s shoe-making capital, Northampton, the company has never wavered in its dedicated to quality, ‘Goodyear’ welt shoes since it was founded in 1879.
So well-reputed were their shoes from the early days that they were commissioned to make the boots for several Antarctic expeditions, including Shackleton’s, and for the armed forces. It wasn’t until 1997 though that they opened their first ever store. The following two decades would see them grow even further to a network of 12 stores located across the world, and even become the shoemakers for the most stylish fictional character James Bond in Skyfall and Sceptre.
Through their boutiques, they have had the opportunity to bring their dedication to quality to a customer service role too and happily share their history through a curated brand experience. At the Burlington Arcade store, this is overseen by Store Manager Asif Mushtaq, who has been working with shoes since he was 15, and has a strong passion for the company’s style, heritage, and understanding of changing customer needs. In his time at Cockett & Jones he has had the privilege of fitting shoes for top clientele, including Sir David Hockney, while he was exhibiting at the neighbouring Royal Academy.
Additional perks of shopping with the legacy brand include a repair service where your shoe will be sent to their Northampton factory and mended on the very same last it was created on. This can be done up to four times in the lifespan of your shoes if required, being returned every time as good as new.
