Tory Burch
149 New Bond Street
Experience the full Tory Burch lifestyle across ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories, watches, fragrance and home at 149 New Bond Street. Founded in New York in 2004 by the brand’s namesake, the label is known for its vintage-inspired designs with a preppy-boho aesthetic. A year after launch Oprah dubbed the designer “the next big thing in fashion” and she wasn’t wrong. It was an instant hit, going on to be worn regularly by the characters in TV show Gossip Girl creating waitlists for some designs. The Reva ballet flat, instantly recognisable by the T-logo medallion on the toe, is one of the brand’s all-time best sellers that continues to be sold by the brand today.
While the brand is now a global sensation, the New Bond Street store was only the second ever store in Europe when it opened in 2010. Set across two levels, with one dedicated to VIP services and events, the boutique is located in a 19th century townhouse that used to be a haberdashery. The interiors reflect the retro feel of the brand with moss green floors, plum leopard-print curtains, gold leaf mirrors, and orange lacquer accessories. VIP friends of Tory Burch attended its opening including stylist to the stars Elizabeth Saltzman, celebrity hairdresser John Frieda and actress Joely Richardson.
London remains an important destination for the brand, not only as home to some of its most important stores, but as a city that Tory Burch remembers fondly from childhood trips with family and enjoys returning to again and again.
