Known for feminine yet fun accessories, Anya Hindmarch’s New Bond Street flagship is the grown-up girl’s three-floor playhouse.
Filled with bags, purses, stationery, clothing, a small men’s range, and the brand’s highly coveted stickers, the luxury store also has an entire floor dedicated to their Bespoke offering with an in-house workshop.
Anya Hindmarch Bespoke allows customers to emboss their purchases with drawings or messages in their own handwriting. They hope that through this, customers can connect better to the craftsmanship, and the Creative Director and namesake of the brand has also said it is about “having your name on something, rather than mine.” Only six stores worldwide offer this service, and New Bond Street is the only store to house the Bespoke range alongside the main collections, so make the most of the opportunity while you’re in the West End.
That’s not the only piece of bespoke in the store, with the interiors boasting original artwork and specially designed furniture by highly-regarded Italian designer Martino Gamper who is famous for using reclaimed materials to create new furniture. Look out for the tables, chairs and craftsmen’s benches which are all his creations.
London is the label’s hometown, first setting up shop in Knightsbridge in 1987, and is synonymous with British skill and artistry. Their small leather accessories featuring the signature ‘bow’ logo make perfect gifts for tourists to take back to their loved ones.
Anya Hindmarch’s association with the capital also extends to London Fashion Week, where it was the first accessories brand to hold an on-schedule show, a tradition which they still uphold today.
Celebrity followers of the brand include British fashion ambassadors Kate Moss and the Duchess of Cambridge, as well as sophisticated style icons around the world like Angelina Jolie and Claudia Schiffer.
